Nutrition, Lifestyle and Spiritual Counseling

Most of us live busy stressful lives and eat what's familiar and easy to prepare.  We want to be healthy, but it seems to take a lot of effort.  Over the years, you may have put on some weight, you're not really exercising as much as you'd like, or perhaps you've developed a health problem. You may have a family and want some ideas about getting your kids to eat healthier foods.  Where can you turn for help?

Lisa Feiner has been a holistic health coach for over ten years and has prior counseling experience.  Many food issues are emotional, and many of our habits have developed over a lifetime.  After working with Lisa for three or six months, you will begin to have a different relationship with food and your body, and understand what nourishes you in your life and what does not.  This awareness is the first step in developing a new relationship with yourself and understanding what you want and need in your life.  From this place, it's easier to realize your goals and open up to the possibilities that lie ahead.

Food Sensitivity Testing

Over a number of years, Lisa had digestive problems and developed a pain on her right side that was diagnosed as inflammation of the small intestine. In her own quest for better health, she changed her diet and lived a healthier lifestyle, but it wasn't quite enough.  It was only after a food sensitivity test that she had the information she needed to avoid foods that were causing the greatest discomfort and inflammation.  She is now able to use the IgG Test with clients, and the results have been truly amazing.

Soul GardeningTM

After completing a one-year Spiritual Sabbatical almost five years ago, Lisa realized the importance of a spiritual presence in her life. This journey included a 5-day silent retreat, taking classes on soul and intuitive healing, and meeting regularly with a spiritual teacher.   A blog written during this time allowed Lisa to share her experiences, process her mother’s unexpected illness and subsequent passing, and integrate what she has learned into everyday life.

Clients benefit from developing a connection to their intuition and their deepest selves.  Since everyone has their own definition of spirituality, Lisa uses a variety of tools to help clients access this part of themselves and develop a spiritual practice, if they choose to do so.

Lisa has developed a course for coaches called Soul GardeningTM which explores one's individual spirituality, the mind-body-spirit connection, and how to access one's inner wisdom.  It is taught through Quantum CoachingTM. Whether or not you're facing particular health issues or a life crisis, cultivating your inner spirit creates a calmer, more conscious and fulfilled way of being.

Cooking Classes

Preparing one's own food is a benefit to achieving good health, but it can be difficult to know how to prepare simple, nutritious meals.  Lisa cooks with you either in your home or in her kitchen to help everyone from beginners to experienced cooks prepare delicious food.  A menu of dishes is tailored to your personal goals and food preferences. During the class, Lisa discusses the foods, their health benefits and specific cooking techiniqes.  Classes typically last  2 hours.

Reiki Sessions

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered through light touch and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being.  Lisa is a Reiki Master in the Ursui tradition and has been practicing for over 5 years.  A session usually lasts 1 hour.

"I now know I have the power to control my body's pain and discomfort. When I eat the right foods, and do what's best for me, the fibromyalgia virtually disappears."
--Carol G.

It's important to read food labels to know what's in the food you are buying. Even if a food is labeled "trans-fat free" it may still contain a small amount. Look for "partially-hydrogenized" or "hydrogenized" oils on the label.
